We also did the usual and sometimes exhausting Family Photo! Trying to get six kids to stand still, look at the camera and smile along with the parents reminding the kids to smile and also look at the camera is also quite a feat. My dad's favorite comment to this task is like trying to coral a box of puppies. This year I think we did it in record time. It helped that we bribed the kids that if they tried their best, the reward would be swimming.
Although completely exhausting Saturday was an excellent day. Madelynn had the best time opening her presents and I have never laughed so hard seeing her in her Jesse(toy story) Boots, Jesse Hat and a hot pink tulle skirt. Thank you for all the great presents!!
Sunday on the other hand started out a little worrisome. I rolled out of bed about 8:30 and came downstairs to find Phil feeding the kids scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. As I jumped in to help serve breakfast Phil handed me the kids vitamins and Jackson's allergy medicine (dosed out in a cup for him to drink). As I handed out the vitamins I set the allergy medicine down. When I went to pick it back up to hand to Jackson I looked down and Madelynn drank Jackson's medicine.
The first words out of my mouth were, "HOLY CRAP!" I told Phil what happened, ran upstairs to get my phone and call the pharmacy. When I get the pharmacy tech on the phone I calmly tell her what happened so she can look the prescription up to know exactly what Jackson takes. As I tell her Jackson's weight verses Madelynn's and that I she drank one of his doses she responds with this statement....
"You know it is not recommended that your daughter take this medicine."
I was speechless. I wanted to scream and say I just told you it was an accident!!!!!!!!!!!!
Instead, I said all I need to know what kind of reaction she could have and if I need to take her to the Emergency Room? Her response was I need to double check something and puts me on hold. This is one of those times in life I needed to just breath through those waiting moments.
When she comes back on the phone she tells me she might be dizzy, the medicine will make her tired but it will wear off and she should be ok. Just keep an eye on her. All I have to say is if Madelynn had allergies this is not the medicine for her. Not only did she not take a nap today she ran at a buck eighty all day. I am completely exhausted!! Never a dull moment when my kids are involved.
Once I get all the pictures from my dad I will post some of them. In the meantime here are a few pictures of Madelynn in some of her favorite Birthday Presents.
The crown was part of a Birthday card and matched the new skirt. |
The Jesse Hat and Boots came from two different people and exactly matched. |
I just love this hat! |
TTFN~
