Lately...

Here lately the kids want to be with Daddy when it is time to go to bed so this is the result. We also have been having a problem with Jack waking in the middle of the night. With my current state we have been trying to convince Jack to go back to his own bed. What ends up happening is that one of us ends up sleeping with him. Therefore he goes back to bed and we don't miss too much sleep. I just thought it was kind of cute. Good thing I bought the big green blanket it has come in very handy. TTFN

Friends

When Phil and I found out that baby #3 was on the way we were more than shocked. Our Life was planned for only 2 children. Everything we did was planned around two children. Well, God decided that was not to be. The first month or so we told almost no one mostly not knowing how to respond. For a while I was very angry. Most of our friends either tried for years and just stopped trying, still trying yet unsuccesful and then those with the misfourtune of miscarrage. At one point I even considered approaching my best friend to carry a baby for her (before I was pregnant). I was perfectly content with my two beautiful children it needed to be someone else's turn to experience that joy not mine.
Because I am 36, I am considered an old fart having a baby so I have had to have a few extra test and ultrasounds. Not something I am used to. As we have seen the baby move and listen to the heartbeat things are starting to settle down. I still could not stop thinking of my very best friend. The last 3 months have been very rough for her and I have cried alot for her hoping that she would be succesful . When I finally told her about our baby #3, I cried because it was supposed to be her turn. She told me not to worry she had great hope and was not giving up yet. On her birthday there was another trip to the Dr to try again. I talked to her that day. She told me this was it. It had to be this time. It was her birthday present, she knew it would work this time. She told me she had to wait about two weeks and she would know. I marked the calender and I prayed and I waited and waited. Two weeks came and went and no phone call. I was starting to worry. Still no call I thought could I handle calling her if it didn't work, should I call, when should I call. One night this week the phone rang I answered it heard nothing and thought it was a solicitor. Right away the phone rang again. It was her. What was probably 10 secs max seemed like an eternity. In my head I was screaming WELLLLLLLLL!!! but nothing would come out of my mouth. Then she said it I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! I was so excited. She had to go back Thursday for one more test and it too was definatly pregnant. The kicker to the whole story is She goes to the Dr the first week in March to find out HOW MANY!!!!!!!
That fact that God has finally blessed her and she never gave up Hope I don't believe He will Bless her with more that she can handle.
Congratulations Justine!!!! I am very happy for you!!! So after over 20 years of friendship we can be pregnant together. TTFN

Jack's surgery

Well we just came from the ENT doctor. Jack's ears were not comepletely better but on there way. Jack's surgery is scheduled for March 18th in the am. We do not know the exact time until 2 days before the surgey. It is based on age, youngest goes first. Jack was first the last time but he was also only 11 mos old. They are going to take his adnoids out and put tubes in. He is too young to have his tonsils removed. The surgery will take about 30-40 mins and he will be in recovery about 1-2 hours. Jack will be out of school for about a week. Phil and I and other family will be sharing in his recovery care. Needless to say March has become a very busy month for us. We hope everyone is well and will update as we know more. We are actually kind of relieved that the surgery is going to happen. I believe it will make him so much better. TTFN

Past Due Update

I realize that this post is way past due but the last few weeks have been such a challenge I can't believe I am still standing and Phil and I are still married. We started out with Jack being diagnosed with strep throat and an ear infection on my birthday. Then Katie a week later had a upper respirtory infection with an ear infection. Oh but then the following week Jack had another ear infection and pink eye. Not to be out done Katie spiked a fever of almost 103 and we found out she had a dble ear infection. Some where in the beginning of that ordeal Phil got the flu, he is much better now. Again, not to be out done I lost my voice, with the creeping crud and am still recovering. Mine is taking much longer because I can not take any real drugs. Between the four of us we have been thru 6 boxes of tissues, 4 rolls of toilet paper, 4 bottles of antibiotic, two bottles of motrin, a bottle of theraflu and many other winter time necessaties. I finally feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.
However, the first clue that your two year old is finally feeling better is that he is sent to the day care Director's Office for unruly behavior. Friday, I called into the school just to check on them to make sure they were eating because of all the medicines they have been on. Jack's teacher told me he had to go to Ms. Jill's office because he kept telling the teacher no and didn't want to listen. Of course when I picked him up they said he was better that afternoon but he missed the Diego movie. Today when I picked him up there was a note on the back of his daily report that again he was telling the teacher no and as an added kicker he was sticking his tougue out at the teacher. I was so frustrated I stopped to talk to the owner and asked her if she had any suggestions. I did not want another child taking his behavior home but I also did not know where some of it was coming from. She tolded me to just keeping working with him. She also told me that part of the challenge with Jack is that he is so bright he is not interested in some of the things going on in the class he needs a bigger challenge. He likes books and puzzles most of which are above his age group. She said alot of his behavior is typical of his age group but to work him out of it he needs better challenges.
As for Katie except for a lingering cough she is doing great. They have finished working the alphabet and working with them on writing the ABC's and more details about what the ABC's teach you. She is very challenged and loves her classroom. Some days she spends the afternoon in the next class above hers which is the preK prep class. She will move into that class some time this year. She really likes it because it is the purple room and her favorite color.
As for the baby on the way, things are going well. We heard a very strong heart beat and all of the test so far have been normal or negative as they should be. We go back to the doctor for a check up 3/6 and we have the ultrasound that will tell you the sex of the baby 3/13. A little belated birthday present for Daddy.
Hopefully now everyone is caught up on the goings on in NC. We also hope this post finds everyone well. TTFN
